Coyote15h Traditional Nokota Stallion
Grulla Roan (a/a, e/e, n/Dn, n/Rn) |
This small herd is a mixture of Traditional and Ranch type Nokotas. The Traditional Nokota is closer to th orginal Spanish horses that became the foundation for tribal mounts. While the Ranch type was designed to be able to work the land. The Ranch type of Nokota is quite successful in equestrian sports such as dressage and fox hunting. While all the Nokotas have a mixed heritage, some have a higher occurance of Thoroughbred and Draft horse blood than others, and these are typically the Ranch type, however the two types are really more seperated by physical looks than anything else.
This mottly crew was originally used as breed ambassadors, and travled the world. Eventually they ended up at Big Sky to be trail and ranch horses. |
